Satisfied Customers
Owning an Wascomat appliance means enjoying engineering, sustainability, and durability. However, Florida’s unique climate — high humidity, salt air, and extreme heat — puts even the most robust systems to the test. Without specialized care, components like sealed gaskets and electronic control boards can degrade faster, leading to premature failure.
At Big Sam Service, we don’t just fix Wascomat appliances; we protect your investment. Our certified technicians use factory-grade scanners to decode complex error logs, safely handle integrated units, and apply climate-specific sealing techniques to prevent corrosion and mold. We provide fast, lasting repairs tailored to Florida’s demands.

Our Wascomat Selecta washer kept displaying an E04 water fill error, and our maintenance team couldn't figure it out. I called Big Sam, and they sent a technician who specialized in Wascomat equipment. He found that the water inlet screens were completely clogged with debris and the pressure switch was out of calibration. He cleaned the screens, recalibrated the switch, and also checked the drain valve for proper operation. The machine now fills faster than it has in years. Big Sam is now our exclusive service provider for all 12 of our Wascomat machines.
- Jennifer L., Hotel Facilities Manager
My Wascomat W75ES washer was making a terrible grinding noise and shaking violently during spin cycles. Another company quoted me a full bearing replacement for $1,800. Big Sam came out, ran a full diagnostic, and found that the shock absorbers and coil springs were completely worn out and one of the V-belts was loose. They replaced the suspension components, tightened the belt, and charged me less than $500. The washer is now running quietly and smoothly. Honest, transparent, and they clearly know the free-swinging suspension system on these machines. Highly recommend Big Sam.
- Joyce M., Multi-Housing Property Owner
My Wascomat dryer kept throwing a gas error and wouldn't heat. I had 20 units of tenants complaining about wet clothes. Big Sam came out the same morning I called. The technician diagnosed a failed gas valve solenoid and a clogged burner orifice. He replaced the solenoid, cleaned the orifice, and also checked the entire exhaust vent for restrictions. The dryer was back to full heat within a few hours. The tech was respectful of the property, wore shoe covers, and cleaned up completely. Big Sam is now my go-to for all our commercial laundry repairs.
- Rhonda D., Apartment Complex Manager
My Wascomat W105ES washer stopped mid-cycle with an E01 door lock error. With 15 customers waiting and a full house, I was in full panic mode. Big Sam had a technician at my laundromat in under two hours. He diagnosed a faulty door interlock within minutes, had the replacement part in his van, and had the machine back in service within the hour. The tech also showed me how to properly test the safety interlocks daily to prevent future failures. Professional, fast, and they know Wascomat inside and out. My customers never even knew there was a problem. Big Sam saved my business that day.
- Mike T., Laundromat Owner
My newer Wascomat WED Series 200G with the Clarus Vibe touchscreen started freezing up and wouldn't respond to any commands. I was worried the entire control board needed replacement at huge cost. Big Sam sent a technician who actually understands these sophisticated electronic controls. He diagnosed a software glitch and a faulty connection in the wiring harness. He performed a system reset, updated the firmware, and repaired the loose connection. The touchscreen is now working perfectly, and all 180+ custom programs are accessible again. If you have a modern Wascomat with the Clarus Vibe system, call Big Sam – they're the experts.
- Maria S., Laundry Business Owner
My Wascomat washer would only spin counter-clockwise and then stop, showing error code 45E. The machine was useless. Big Sam's technician diagnosed a faulty contactor (relay) that wasn't sending power to the motor for clockwise rotation. He replaced the contactor, checked the motor windings, and also inspected the drive belt for wear. The washer is now running through full cycles perfectly. The price was very fair, and he explained every step of the repair. If you have a Wascomat with rotation errors, call Big Sam – they know these machines.
- Chris W., Car Wash & Laundry Owner
Our Wascomat washer stopped draining on a busy Saturday afternoon, displaying an E02 error. The laundry room was flooding, and we had hundreds of towels piling up. I called Big Sam expecting to leave a voicemail, but a real person answered and had a technician at my facility within a few hours. He found a sock and other debris lodged in the drain pump and a partially clogged drain hose. He cleared the obstruction, cleaned the pump, and tested the drain valve solenoid. The washer was back up and running within an hour. Big Sam goes above and beyond. Forever grateful.
- Thomas G., Health Club Manager
My Wascomat washer was taking forever to fill, and the display showed "TIME FOR MAINTENANCE." I didn't know what that meant. Big Sam came out the same day I called. The technician told me it was a routine maintenance reminder and proceeded to clean the water inlet screens, inspect all internal hoses for leaks, check the drive belt tension, and test the heating elements for lime deposits. He decalcified the elements and even showed me how to properly maintain the machine going forward. Great service, fair pricing, and real peace of mind. Big Sam is now my go-to for all appliance repairs.

Do you have any questions about Wascomat the repair of your household appliances? You’re not alone. Our experts have compiled answers to the most common concerns we hear from homeowners. This FAQ is designed to provide clear, professional guidance and help you understand the repair process before you even call us.
An E01 error code indicates a problem with the door lock mechanism or the door safety interlock. The machine will not start, or it may stop mid-cycle, because the control board does not detect that the door is securely closed and locked.
First, check that the door is fully closed and there is no visible damage to the lock. Also, inspect the door gasket for any debris that might prevent proper sealing. You should also verify the function of the door safety interlock daily: with the door open, the machine must not start, and once running, the door must remain locked until the cycle is complete. If these simple checks don’t resolve the issue, the problem could be a faulty door lock, a broken wire in the harness, or a defective control board. Repairing the interlock requires professional expertise, as bypassing it is a serious safety risk.
These codes indicate that the washer is not draining water properly. This can prevent the machine from completing its cycle and may lead to overloading the motor during the spin phase.
Start by checking the drain hose for any kinks, clogs, or improper placement that could block water flow. Next, locate and clean the drain pump filter, as it can easily become clogged with lint and debris. If the water still doesn’t drain, the drain pump may have a damaged motor/impeller, or there could be an obstruction lodged in the drain lines. In many cases, these issues require a technician to inspect the pump, clear internal blockages, or replace the drain valve.
An E04 code, or a display reading “NO WATER,” means the water level hasn’t reached the required level within the allowed time. This is often a simple problem to diagnose.
First, ensure that the manual water shut-off valves are fully open and that the water supply hoses are not kinked or damaged. Next, check the water inlet screens for debris, as dirty screens are a common cause of long fill times and reduced productivity. If these are clean, the issue may be a faulty water inlet valve (fill valve) that isn’t opening, or a problem with the pressure switch (level sensing system) that tells the control board when to stop filling.
The 45E error code indicates a clockwise drum rotation failure. This means the motor is not getting the signal to rotate in one direction (clockwise), which is necessary for proper washing and extraction. You may see the drum only turning counter-clockwise before the machine stops.
A clicking sound from the contactor (relay) without drum movement often points to a faulty contactor. Other possible causes include a worn drive belt, a failed motor, or a malfunctioning motor control board. An unbalanced load can also cause the washer to stop spinning to prevent damage.
Unusual noises and excessive vibration are often linked to mechanical wear. A grinding noise could indicate a worn-out bearing, while a squeaking sound may suggest a damaged or loose drive belt. A thumping noise often points to an unbalanced load or foreign objects in the drum.
For free-swinging machines, worn shock absorbers or coil springs are common causes of excessive vibration, especially if the out-of-balance cutout is repeatedly triggered. These components should be inspected regularly. If the machine runs slowly or you hear a slapping/thumping noise, the V-belts likely need to be replaced. A metallic noise at the rear of the machine may indicate a loose pulley on the motor shaft.
A dryer not heating properly is often caused by a malfunctioning heating element, gas supply issues, or a faulty thermostat. For gas models, an error like 12:14 GAS ERROR means the machine did not detect a flame. Check the gas supply, ensure the unit is properly ventilated, and try resetting the error by pressing the start button.
On some heat pump models, the error “HP HIGH PRESSURE” may appear if there is no cooling water to the machine or if the airflow is obstructed by lint. A clogged lint filter or restricted exhaust vent is a very common and preventable cause of long drying times. Also, ensure the dryer is programmed to include a heating phase and that the circuit breakers are not interrupted. If the problem persists, a technician should check the heating system, thermal fuse, and control board.
Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your Wascomat running efficiently. The machine’s display will even show a “TIME FOR MAINTENANCE” message as a reminder. Here are some essential tasks:
Daily: Check the door lock and seal for leaks, clean the door glass and gasket, and wipe down the exterior.
Monthly/Quarterly: Inspect all internal hoses, seals, and gaskets for leaks. Clean the water inlet screens to ensure fast fill times. Inspect the drive belt tension and the condition of shock absorbers/springs. On heated machines, check heating elements for lime deposits and decalcify if necessary.
Wascomat offers a limited warranty on its laundry equipment, but the length and terms vary depending on the specific product and location. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship. To ensure coverage, your machine must be registered upon installation, and any service or installation must be performed properly.
It is very important to note that improper installation or servicing of Wascomat equipment will void the manufacturer’s warranty. Always refer servicing to qualified personnel. For valid warranty claims, Wascomat’s Technical Support Staff will honor manufacturer’s parts warranty claims.

Since 1955, Wascomat has been a pioneering force in the commercial laundry industry, revolutionizing the sector as the first brand to introduce front-load commercial washers to North America. For decades, Wascomat has earned a reputation as a rugged, industrial-grade brand known for durability and long service life, with some laundromats continuing to rely on 40-year-old Wascomat machines. Today, Wascomat continues to serve a diverse clientele, including laundromats, multi-housing facilities, hospitality businesses, healthcare institutions, and residential settings where uncompromising quality is non‑negotiable.
Wascomat offers a comprehensive range of commercial laundry equipment, including high-performance washer-extractors, tumble dryers, and coin-operated machines. From the Emerald Series with seven customizable wash cycles to the innovative WED Series 200G solid-mount washers featuring Clarus Vibe touchscreen technology, Wascomat appliances are engineered for reliability, energy efficiency, and exceptional performance.
However, even the most meticulously engineered machines can encounter issues over time. The sophisticated control systems, heavy‑duty mechanical components, and proprietary technologies that make Wascomat exceptional demand specialized knowledge to repair correctly. At Big Sam Appliance Repair, we have dedicated ourselves to mastering the intricacies of Wascomat equipment. We understand that when your Wascomat washer fails to spin or your dryer displays an error code, you need a technician who respects the engineering behind the brand and has the specific training to restore it to peak performance.
Wascomat has built its reputation on several key technologies and design features that set its appliances apart. These innovations deliver superior performance and durability but require a higher level of technical expertise during service.
The Wascomat WED Series 200G solid-mount washers feature the innovative Clarus Vibe 7” Color Touchscreen control, designed to enhance operational efficiency and user satisfaction. This full-color touchscreen delivers unprecedented control over every aspect of doing laundry, offering 10 built-in wash cycles, 180+ custom programs, and 35 available languages. From custom programs to regulating water levels and superior program selections, this control does it all with precision and ease of use. However, when this sophisticated electronic system encounters issues — such as unresponsive touchscreens, software glitches, or display failures — diagnosing and repairing the control requires specialized training and access to Wascomat-specific diagnostic protocols.
Many Wascomat models feature the Compass Pro control system, which allows for customizable wash programs, enhancing user experience and operational flexibility. With 15 customizable wash programs, operators can create custom cycles, fine-tune water levels, cycle times, and pricing strategies. This system also features built-in diagnostics and statistics, allowing display of only the programs you use. When these electronic controls malfunction, professional diagnostic expertise is essential.
Wascomat commercial washing machines use a unique drain valve instead of a conventional drain pump, reducing “dead water” waste by 97% compared to competitors. This patented technology is shared with Electrolux and contributes to significant water and energy savings. However, when the drain valve or solenoid fails, it requires specific service knowledge and genuine replacement parts.
Wascomat machines are free-swinging, meaning the drum is moveable and spring suspended in relation to the frame. This minimizes vibrations transferred to the frame, simplifying installation without requiring a concrete base. This design also demands proper maintenance of shock absorbers and coil springs, which must be inspected regularly.
At Big Sam Appliance Repair, we bring our fully stocked service vans and certified expertise to the entire Tampa Bay Area. We offer specialized repair for the full suite of Wascomat appliances, including washer-extractors, dryers, and coin-operated equipment.
Wascomat appliances display numerical error codes followed by the letter E to indicate specific malfunctions. Our technicians are trained to interpret these codes and diagnose the underlying issues quickly and accurately.
Error Code | Meaning |
E01 | Door lock is malfunctioning |
E02 | Water is not draining properly |
E03 | Washer motor is overheating |
E04 | Washer is not filling with water |
E10 | Water inlet problem |
E20 | Drainage issue |
E30 | Door lock problem |
45E | Clockwise drum rotation failure – the tachometer in the motor is not sensing movement |
F02 | Long Drain error code (restricted drainage system) |
SUDS | Too much air sensed in the drainage system |
When you see an error code on your Wascomat appliance, professional diagnosis is recommended to prevent minor issues from becoming major failures.
Wascomat offers a wide range of washer-extractors, including the Emerald Series (W75ES, W105ES, W125ES, W185ES) with capacities from 15 lbs to 55 lbs, and the Selecta series heavy-duty machines designed for demanding environments like hotels, hospitals, and professional laundries. The Emerald Giant model offers an impressive 55 lb capacity with an 8.8 ft³ cylinder volume.
